Absolutely incredible mid 19th Century gown circa 1850. This afternoon dress is made of a fine, almost watercolor-like printed muslin with dropped shoulders, an empire waist with boned inner bodice and hand made lace trim, and completely hand stitched. There is a slit pocket hidden in the folds of the skirt near the hips, as well as a tiny, functional pocket built in on the waistband. Without the use of a bustle underneath the skirt has a high-low effect when worn which moves and drapes exceedingly beautifully when worn. Hook and eyes are fastened at the waistband and up the bodice to get in and out of. Comes with original hankie
