C.1880. A Victorian oversized and chunky sterling silver locket and chain set. This beautiful sterling silver chain consists of engraved large flat link panels with loops connecting each of the panels. The oversized oval locket has two empty inside compartments (no glass); it opens properly and shuts firmly. Each side of the locket surface is etched beautifully with a scrolling floral design on one side and geometric patterns on the other. The locket can be detached easily from the spring bolt lock, and the chain itself can also be worn as a wonderful necklace. There are a few signs of tiny, spotted, darkened patina (two on the loops and two on the back), but these spots are hardly noticeable. Both locket and chain are in very good condition.
