This candle holder is a beautiful piece that serves as a souvenir from the Victorian seaside resort town of Weston Super Mare in the late 19th century. The absence of a hallmark on the bottom is compensated by the gold lettering on the top of the baseplate, which reads "A present from Weston Super Mare." The stamped floral patterns on the glaze finish are attributed to the designer "P. Ather," adding a unique touch to this tourist souvenir item. The rim on the baseplate and candle holder is a scallop edge which is trimmed out in gold. The gold on the baseplate rim looks like it has been partly worn off in a number of places. Other than that, this Weston Super Mare candleholder is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, necks, scratches, repairs, fleabites, stains, and has not been modified in any way.
